WVU Medicine, located in Morgantown, WV has an opening for an Advanced Practice Professional (NP or PA) with its Bariatric Surgery program. The Advance Practice Professional (APP) will utilize clinical expertise in the care of bariatric surgery patients: Completes comprehensive patient health evaluations (including biological, social and psychological assessments) in collaboration with the appropriate clinical team. Assesses, and coordinates the educational and psychosocial needs of the patient and caretakers. Develops and reviews the plan of care with the clinical team and participates in directing that care. Coordinates discharge planning. Participate in the education of residents and medical/nursing students Perform diagnostic procedures and therapeutic procedures. Participates in the care of patients the pre/post/operative surgical arena; which may include first assisting in the Operating Room. WVU Healthcare Bariatrics offers a comprehensive, surgical weight loss program. Our program has a strong focus on pre-surgery education and post-operative success. Our program is a Level 1 Accredited Bariatric Center by the American College of Surgeons. We are also an accredited Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program.
